Principal/Vice-Principal Appointments
The Quesnel School District is pleased to announce the following appointments effective August 1, 2024.
Principal – Riverview Elementary
Ms. Anne Mummery has been appointed as principal of Riverview Elementary. Ms. Mummery has been the principal at Dragon Lake Elementary since August 2023 and prior to that was the vice-principal of Voyageur Elementary and an elementary resource teacher for the district.
Ms. Mummery holds a Master of Educational Leadership and will be replacing Mr. Tim Lofstrom who is retiring from the district.
Principal – Dragon Lake Elementary
Ms. Corry Climenhage has been appointed to the position of principal at Dragon Lake Elementary School. Ms. Climenhage has been the principal of Bouchie Lake Elementary since August 2021 and prior to that was the principal of Parkland Elementary.
Ms. Climenhage holds a Master of Curriculum & Pedagogy in Music Education degree and will be replacing Ms. Anne Mummery who has been appointed as principal of Riverview Elementary School.
Principal – Bouchie Lake Elementary
Ms. Ann Larnder has been appointed as principal of Bouchie Lake Elementary School. Ms. Larnder has worked for Yukon Education as a principal and teacher since 2012 and most recently as a curriculum consultant.
Ms. Larnder holds a Master of Educational Leadership and will be replacing Ms. Corry Climenhage who has been appointed as principal of Dragon Lake Elementary School.
Vice-Principal – École Red Bluff Lhtako Elementary
Ms. Maria Dawson has been appointed as vice-principal of École Red Bluff Lhtako Elementary.
Ms. Dawson has been teaching in the district since 2019 and prior to that had worked as a support staff since 2009.
Ms. Dawson holds a Master of Critical Studies and will be replacing Ms. Rebecca Harnden who has taken a position in another district.
Principal – Wells/Barkerville Elementary School
Ms. Nancy Danuser has been appointed as principal of Wells/Barkerville Elementary and will remain in her current position as principal of Barlow Creek Elementary.
Ms. Danuser holds a Master of Education in Special Education Degree and will be replacing Ms. Ashleigh Desbiens who will remain in her current position as principal of Carson Elementary.
