Volunteering
Parents, guardians, and members of the community are encouraged to share in our students' education by becoming involved as volunteers in schools. Volunteers are valuable contributors to enhancing student success, creating opportunities and improving enjoyment of school.
All parents, guardians and community members wishing to volunteer will need to complete a volunteer criminal record check.
Volunteer Criminal Record Checks
Under the Criminal Records Review Act, volunteers who work with or have access to children or vulnerable adults must undergo a criminal record check by the Criminal Records Review program.
Volunteers can access the online criminal record check application by:
- Receiving a web link and unique access code by contacting the secretary at the school district site, or
- Receiving an email invitation that includes a secure direct link. Send an email request to info@sd28.bc.ca
Please use the Applicant Guide to assist you in completing the online criminal record check.
Some applicants may be asked to submit their fingerprints. Please review the Fingerprinting Overview document for an explanation of why an applicant may be asked to submit their fingerprints
